Itinerary

Day 01: Bandaranaike International Airport to Dambulla (130km – 03 hours 50 minutes approx.)

  • You will be met on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport by our Walkers Tours representative who will assist you with your luggage and guide you to your vehicle where your personal chauffeur awaits.
  • Transfer from Bandaranaike International Airport to Dambulla. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. (Entrance Fee applies)
  • Dambulla, located in central Sri Lanka, is renowned for its historic cave temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site features stunning rock cave temples adorned with intricate Buddhist murals and over 150 statues, including a colossal reclining Buddha. Dambulla is a cultural gem, blending ancient spirituality with the beauty of its natural surroundings.
  • Check into the hotel in Dambulla.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Dambulla- Sigiriya

  • Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress in time for Sunrise. (Entrance Fee Applies)
  • Climb the 5th century rock fortress which is a world heritage site built by king Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The Lion Rock is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, Rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.
    Go on a Village tour of Hiriwaduna. (Optional – Entrance Fee Applies)
  • Hiriwadunna is a rural village located in Habarana in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. If you wish to meet the country folks, this is one of the ideal spots. This charming village shaded on either side by a dry zone shrub forest, with unpaved gravel paths and humble village folk – will give you a chance to witness the environment of a typical Sri Lankan village life.

Day 03: Dambulla- Anuradhapura Excursion (60km – 01 hour 20 minutes approx. per way)

  • Make an excursion to Anuradhapura.
  • Commence a city tour of Anuradhapura Ancient City. (Entrance Fee Supplement)
  • Anuradhapura is an ancient city, in northern Sri Lanka and is the capital of North-Central province. Anuradhapura was established in 4th century BC. It was the first capital of Sri Lanka and remained so until 8th century AD. Anuradhapura is an archaeologist’s delight and contains several monuments of historical importance. The city is considered very sacred by the Buddhists and is home to the largest dagobas in Sri Lanka. A dagoba is a dome enshrining sacred relics or the bodily remains of the Buddha, or articles used by Him like the alms bowl and other objects of veneration. It is built in different sizes on a pedestal with a spire on top crowned with a pinnacle. The earliest dagobas had a stone umbrella on top of the dome in place of the spire.
  • Visit the Ruwanwelisaya, the Archaeology Museum, the Folk Museum, Jetavana, the Citadel, the Moonstone, the Western Monasteries, Lovamahapaya. (All the sites can be accessed using the Entrance Ticket)
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Dambulla- Kandy (95km – 02 hour 20 minutes approx.)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • En Route visit the Spice Garden in Matale.
  • Sri Lanka is famous for its spices and spices gardens. These spice gardens offer tourists memorable visits to various spice plantations in Sri Lanka. To promote and uplift spice growing and spice gardens of Sri Lanka a spice council was established with all key industry private and public sector stakeholders. During early historical times Sri Lanka Known as Taprobane, was world renowned for its quality spices. During ancient times the Greeks, Romans and the Arabic maintained their links with Sri Lanka through the spice trade.
  • Visit a Gem Lapidary in Kandy.
  • In Kandy, you’ll find a diverse selection of these precious gems, each cut and polished to perfection by skilled artisans. Exploring the gem lapidaries in Kandy offers a fascinating glimpse into Sri Lanka’s vibrant gemstone industry.
  • In the evening view the Kandy Cultural Dance Show. (Optional – Entrance Fee Applies)
  • Check into the hotel in Kandy.

Day 05: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (95km – 02 hours 40 minutes approx.)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Commence a city tour of Kandy.
  • Kandy is the charming hill capital of Sri Lanka and the island’s second largest city. At an elevation of 465 meters above sea level, Kandy is located 129 Km North-East of Colombo. Nestling midst low hills, and looped by the Mahaweli river; Kandy is the country’s religious and cultural center and a World Heritage City.
  • The city tour begins with a visit to the Kandy viewpoint, located near Kandy Lake.
  • Drive up the hill to enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding town.
  • Kandy Lake, artificially created by the last king of Kandy, King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha, offers a pleasant walk around its shores.
  • Visit temple of tooth (Entrance fees applies)
  • Leave for Nuwara Eliya
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06: Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit a Tea Plantation to see how tea is plucked and a Factory to witness the processing of the raw green leaf to the graded product.
  • You’ll also witness all aspects of the tea-making process on a guided tour of a tea factory.
  • Commence a city tour of Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is the heart of Sri Lankan hill country, it is the home of the famous Ceylon Tea and the rolling mountains are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. The salubrious climate, misty glens and the decidedly British character make Nuwara Eliya a must on any Sri Lankan travel industry
  • Witness the historical landmarks of Nuwara Eliya and absorb its colonial heritage.
  • Stroll around Lake Gregory and take in the serene and calming atmosphere.
  • Return to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
  • Relax and enjoy the cool climate in Nuwara Eliya.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Nuwara Eliya- Colombo (165km – 05 hours approx.)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Leave for Colombo.
  • Commence shopping and a city tour of Colombo.
    As the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo pulsates with the essence of our island, offering a lively mix of cultural, shopping, and dining delights. Central to the city’s charm is the scenic Beira Lake, home to the tranquil Seema Malaka and nearby Gangaramaya Temples, set against the backdrop of Colombo’s modern skyline.
  • Visit Shopping Centers such as Crescat Bouvelard, One Galle Face Mall.
  • Proceed to the hotel in Colombo.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08: Colombo to Bandaranaike International Airport (35km – 40 minutes approx.)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Leave for airport in time for flight out of Sri Lanka.

Cancellation Policy

  • Once confirmed, booking fees of AED 1500 will be Non-refundable.
  • Prior to 60 days to 45 days: 50% of the holiday amount is non-refundable
  • 44 and 30 days of departure: 75% of the holiday cost
  • Less than 29 days prior to departure 100% of the total amount will be deducted.
